Scotland play their second World Cup this Sunday against the USA. After a boosting but tiring start with Japan (45-10), Vern Cotter's players charge toward the US, the lowly team in Pool B. The Scots under pressure to secure a win and launch into this game. Playing for the try bonus points at a time where the qualifications for the quarter-finals remain undecided after the surprises of the opening games. The USA, who are one defeat away from being knocked out will be hitting at all cylinders.
Our bet explained
- The test match between the two sides in April 2014 did not see a huge gap in the tables: 24-6 for the Scots. Only 18 point difference.
- A week after their defeat to Samoans, they should be ready and striving to surprise to keep their world cup dream alive however knowing that qualification is unlikely.
- This is a wide talent gap with Scotland & USA and optimal experience and signs of weakness will be seen especially in the second half...
- ...and the Scots will play a vital match six days later against South Africa, the Pool favourites. Vern Cotter will most likely rotate his squad for the game against the USA and bench some of his important executives.

Only four days after their win over Japan, Vern Cotter should make several changes to his team for this match. The replacements might be much less effective, as in the warm up match in 2014 (24-6), however we believe that the US will not lose by 22 points.
