Completely overwhelmed by Ireland (24-9) in the "final" match of the group stages in Pool D, France is under fire from critics at a time where they need to stand strong against New Zealand. The All Blacks not always convincing and even pushed around by Argentina, but rather determined to raise their level at the start of this final sprint. Strung by the Cloves, the Blues will have to produce some answers on the ground against one of their eternal rivals. Always solid favourites for any World Cup, New Zealand have always been wary of France, who often causes them upset. This was the case in the last World Cup final, despite New Zealand snatching victory, but especially in 2007 when Chabal and his teammates played eye-to-eye with Carter, Nonu and company, to eject them from the competition. And that was in the quarters... unexpected and as proven are able to rise of the ashes in major events, will the Blues surprise us again?

Our bet explained

  • The All Blacks have not put on an impeccable performance since the start of the World Cup and even came close to being brushed aside by the Pumas (26-16).
  • The Blues remained under the handicap of 11 points in 3 of the last 5 matchups.
  • Rattled by the Irish, the French will act out their bitterness and look to hurt the All Black in this game.
  • Before the World Cup, New Zealand were surprised by Australia in the Four Nations, and came close to being succumbed to defeat in the world cup warm-up matches against England (21-24), Scotland (16-24) and Wales (16-34).

Our New Zealand France tip

The French team will not be caught in the same trap again. After been struck off by the Cloves, the Blues will regroup to deliver a huge performance against the All Blacks. Not quite convincing since the start of this World Cup, we believe Carter’s team will not win by more than 10 points.
